How does transition work for Outlaw Nottingham Half?

Modified on Thu, 23 Oct, 2025 at 4:44 PM

Once you have registered and collected your Race Pack please put your security wristband on your wrist as a bracelet (you will need this for access to transition at all times) and apply your bike frame sticker to the seat post your bike. Both of these need to be done before you can access the transition area. Spectators are not allowed in the transition area at any time.

The Transition area is located alongside the lake, a short walk from the Event Village through the wooded area.

You will need to rack your bike, on your numbered spot, on Saturday. Please don't leave anything else with your bike. Any nutrition that you leave overnight will be stripped by the local crows!

Please note that there are no changing facilities in the Transition area and nudity is not allowed, so please keep that in mind when preparing for the race. You can leave a small bag beside your bike (think cabin baggage) but there is no other bag storage in transition.

Once you have racked your bike you will be given two High5 bottles that you can use for the Sunday race as you leave. Please note that you need to fill these yourself before you arrive on Sunday.

When you enter transition on Sunday you will need to have your bike helmet on and fastened. You only need to do this once and can then leave your helmet on your bike.

Transition stays open all day (for relay access), but once racing begins, entry and exit are via a single point near the Event Village.

If on the day you have lost your chip/race number/wristband/swim hat or have any other race morning emergency, our Customer Service Manager will be at the Transition Check In point closest to the Event Village with what we affectionately call the 'Oh My God!' box. We have dealt with all sorts over the years including failed wetsuits, forgotten bike shoes (bit more difficult), split hats, lost chips and incorrectly applied security wristbands, so just come and see us. If we can get you to the start line we will. There is also a smaller OMG box at swim start that can deal with swim hat or goggle failure.
